Chipped Teeth
There are important distinctions between chipped teeth, and chipping teeth. The cause of chips on your teeth need to be understood for ongoing management.
Any significant amount of missing tooth structure can impact your overall, long term dental health. It has implications for the strength or vulnerability of your teeth, affects the bio-mechanical function of the teeth and has reduced aesthetic appeal.
Chipped teeth caused by a minor traumatic event should be assessed and restored by Dr Peddey. Recommended treatment is often bonded composite resins.
Larger breaks may need to be considered as a broken tooth.
Ongoing Chipping of Teeth
Teeth that chip regularly should be reviewed for the possibility of bruxism.
The chipped tooth structure needs to be restored. A night guard may need to be considered.
